I have been looking at canister vacs for a long time. I bought one, despised it (the floor attachment kept falling off, the filter kept clogging), and finished up returning it. I am pleasantly surprised by this small machine…the suction is fantastic, it’s not too loud, doesn’t clog, and it’s lightweight. Plus the price is right!! I was looking into getting a miele until I found this. I use this at my vacation home (a 60 year ancient ranch home that produces a LOT of dust) where all the floors are hardwood or tile and I have an area rug. The vac works honestly well on the area rug, too. The handle feels much more solid than the previous machine I had and doesn’t fall apart. And I really prefer the bag to the bagless version I previously had. It is so much simpler to change the bag than pull out a canister and have dust flying everywhere. I highly recommend this for someone who has a lot of hardwood floors and wants to get up ALL the dust on the floors, in the corners, under the sofas!!!
I’m 2,000 miles away from my cyclonic upright, and I needed a excellent vacuum without spending a lot of money. This small gem fills the bill. It’s lightweight – surprisingly so – but don’t let that fool you; most of the cost must have gone into developing the powerful motor.
I took this to a rug that hadn’t been vacuumed since Mme. Curie learned radium, and despite the fact that the carpet tool does not have a power beater, the results were most satisfactory. It came with the floor and rug tool, an upholstery attachment, and a cute small thing that doubles as crevice tool and dust brush. I wish it had a separate dust brush attachment, but that’s just about my only unfulfilled desire.
For the $60.00 I paid, I got a clean small canister vac that will serve me well, hopefully for years to come.
I bought this vacuum cleaner because I’ve had excellent experience in the past with Eureka. I had a previous one to vacuum carpets, but now I live in a property that has all marble floors, so I needed a vacuum for floors. This vacuum is brilliant for floors, and can do also carpets, but I would not recomment it if you have large areas with carpet. I suffer from allergies and I wanted a vacuum cleaner with a bag that you can just throw away, so this feature for me is a plus. It’s is very light and small, simple to clean, maintain and store. I just like it.
Our house has mostly hardwood and tile floors with carpet in 3 bedrooms. I have an upright Dyson animal vacuum that I bought a few years ago because I thought that it could handle all the vacuuming. It does a fantastic job on the carpets, but is not so simple to use on flooring. It’s a 2 tale house, and the Dyson is heavy to lug up and down stairs. Plus with it being an upright I have problems with it tipping over when I use the floor tool. Since our whole lower level is wood and tile flooring I figured that an inexpensive floor canister vacuum would be the best option. The Eureka 900A fits the bill perfectly. It’s a powerful vacuum that’s priced well. It does a really excellent job on the wood and tile an even on area rugs ( which the Dyson sucks up & gets stuck on). Plus the Eureka is light enough in weight for me to carry upstairs to vacuum the floors there. Of course it’s not meant for carpet ( I use the Dyson for that). If I didn’t have the Dyson I suppose I would have gotten a canister vacuum that does carpet, but they’re quite expensive and heavy too. The Eureka is just perfect for us. I like the retractable chord ( found on expensive canisters), and I especially like the color red. The bags seem quite small, but they hold a lot of dirt, and last through a few goes of the vacuum. You can buy a box of 3 bags at Best Buy for under $4.00. I recommend this vacuum if you have mostly flooring and are looking for a vacuum that does the job well without blowing your budget.
I’ve had this for one day so take it for what its worth. I bought this until I can afford something better like a Miele. The real test will be to see how long it lasts. I have harwood floors with two area rugs so for me its a excellent value for a functional vacuum.
