My first vacuum was the Eureka Altima. It looks pretty much just like this one same price ect. I bought that vacuum in November 2006. It did a fantastic job for 3 straight years. It went from our apartment to now our town house. But it started to act amusing…it would shut off unexpectedly, or not turn off. Something electrical and probably could have been fixed. But I convinced my husband it was time to retire our ancient vacuum. I have a 2.5 year ancient a 4 month ancient and a chow-chow. Being Christmas time and having the ancient vacuum acting weird I couldn’t spend a lot of money.
When I found this vacuum I chose to order it. I am so glad I did. Once again I got a fantastic vacuum for a fantastic price. It picks up everything…It’s no Dyson but for the price who can argue? It cost 1/5 of the cheapest dyson.
There are a few flaws: 1) the HEPA filter has to be cleaned often..I don’t mind it because it gets the dust and stuff out. Also this is because I have a dog and the hair gets around it and it loses suction. 2) it does not have a bare floor setting…but once again it’s ok with me. I tend to sweep my kitchen then use the hose to suck up the dirt. Our bedrooms are hardwood and I do the same as in kitchen.
If you have previously owned a Eureka I would encourage you to get this one.
