Since 1992 I have worked for a major retailer in the vacuum department. This is the ultimate tool which does not come included with your upright or canister vacuum. I bought this tool specifically to clean the coils at the bottom of my refrigerator to make it more energy efficient. I also realize this tool will remove ever-present pet fur from the most challenging of locations. Buy it!
I live in an ancient home with cast-iron hot-water radiators. I’ve been looking for a vacuum attachment which would allow me to vacuum the dust out from the radiator vanes.
I received the WonderWand today, and it was a bit too thick to fit between the radiator vanes. By removing the purple, soft-plastic piece at the end of the nozzle (this is held on with a light-duty glue and locating pins, so it can be re-attached if necessary), I was able to reduce the thickness of the nozzle to 0.675″ (x 2.025″ wide), which fit easily between the radiator vanes. In order to get enough depth, it was necessary to remove the purple, hard-plastic collar from the extending section of the wand. This piece broke into two halves when I pried it off, so I will not be able to re-attach it, although this seems unnecessary.
Having modified the WonderWand, and tried it out, I am very pleased with the results. My canister vacuum (a Kenmore) worked well with the WonderWand, and the suction was sufficient to remove all the dust from between the radiator vanes and in the spaces in the vanes themselves.
I bought the wand for only one reason and that was for cleaning the fridge coils. It does the job well.
Fantastic for cleaning under refrigerator. Would have liked an even thinner attachment piece but still works fantastic as is. Gets the majority of dust from under the refrigerator.
Unless you have a refrigerator built in the fifties don’t buy this. It is way, way too large.
